How does an additional 80 Horsepower and 80 Torque to the wheels on an otherwise stock car on pump gas sound? How about up to 180 Horsepower and 155 Torque to the wheels on a
fully modified car on race gas?
 
Stage 3 improvements include crank position for full 4D engine mapping, air intake temperature for on the fly thermal loading adjustments, direct solenoid control for precise spike free boost control, throttle input for factory like drivability, and fuel pressure control for diagnostic invisibility.
 
In addition new internal safeguards such as over-boost protection, boost spike protection, and maximum allowable boost solenoid offsets have been incorporated making the JB3 one of the safest tunes available.  
 
Because the JB3 was designed from the ground up specifically for the N54 platform, we were able to optimize the unit for reliability and ease of install.
 
The JB3 does not require complicated external power or ground taps which can leave tell tale signs of modification or trigger detection codes, making it the only true plug and play N54 system available. And the JB3 box and harness are designed to fit discretely in the  ECU compartment with no visible signs of modification. Unlike ECU flash remaps or flash tunes the JB3 can be installed and removed at home with no traces left behind.


We've also made installation a snap! JB3 is offered with two wiring harnesses. Plug and play (PnP), and professional (pin-out). Performance is identical between the two with the only difference being an additional 15-20 minutes of install time for the manual pin out harness.

The JB Stage 3 Plug & Play includes color matched subconnectors and does not require counting/extracting ECU pins. Installation takes only 15-20 minutes.

The pin-out (suggested for more experienced enthusiasts) uses OEM BMW pins in similar manner as the JB2, and has an install time of 30-45 minutes. Neither version requires the solenoid bypass or any vacuum line changes making removal a snap!

Users can now switch maps or disable the JB3 from the drivers seat! All without the hassle of running wires inside the car or carrying around a manual remote control. See map switch guide for full details.

Each JB3 2.0 ships with the following user selectable maps:

Map 0:
• Disables JB3, all signals pass through. Stock tune.

Map 1:
• Low boost map, boost levels of 11-13psi depending on mods and weather
• Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
• 91 octane RM2 or higher required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 2:
• Performance map, boost levels of 12-14psi depending on mods and weather
• Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
• 91 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 3:
• Identical to map 2 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 4:
• Hotter Performance map, boost levels of 13-15psi depending on mods and weather
• Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
• 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

Map 5:
• Identical to map 4 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 6:
• Designed to optimize bolt on performance
• 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
• Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque
• May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian
Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service.

Map 7:
• Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

Map 8:
• Race map
• 97 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
• Modifications like intake, downpipes, and intercooler strongly suggested
• Lagfix enabled
• May trigger tuner detection codes

Map 9:
• More aggressive race map
• 100 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
• Intake, downpipes, and intercooler required
• Lagfix enabled
• May trigger tuner detection codes

In addition with 2.0 firmware users can fully customize and tune their own maps should the desire arise.
